Worcester County Probate & Family Court
As one of the busiest Probate and Family Courts in the Commonwealth, the Worcester division is located at 225 Main St. in Worcester. This court is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. It is located one block from both Mechanics Hall and the DCU Center. There is plenty of parking available on the street, as well as lots located within blocks of the courthouse. The court is accessible using the Framingham / Worcester line of the MBTA, and the closest stop is Union Station, which is less than a half-mile from the court. Transportation is also available by Worcester Regional Transit Authority.
Unique Worcester County Probate & Family Court Statistics
Of the 31,788 modification cases filed in Massachusetts in 2014, Worcester County had the largest share of filings: 5,608 (almost 20%). Statistics suggest a stronger labor market drove household incomes higher, which often warrant a change in the support obligation.
